The late Hunter S. Thompson defined
the term "GONZO" as:
"Total Commitment, Total Concentration, A mad sort of Panache"
Dr. Thompson practiced what he called "Gonzo Journalism" - inserting himself
into the
story as he reported it. As we are doing essentially the same thing with
desert racing
and our website, we have appropriated the name in his honor...... We are
(were) fans
of Dr. Thompson and try to apply our sense of his style
and dedication to desert racing.
